Passion

Whenever I read that you needed to find your passion…I felt confused. And deflated.

What if you don’t know what your passion is? I worked in financial services…I did not develop a passion for credit cards, funds transfers, or brokerage accounts.

So here’s what happened.

I became passionate about the work. I really wanted every project I worked on to be successful.  I really wanted what I was responsible for to be great. And then I learned that I needed to be really passionate about the people who worked for and with me. Passionate about our outputs as a team, how we conducted meetings, the value we gave to the organization. And I grew addicted to the quest for excellence, not perfection.

I could be passionate about that. So no matter what you’re doing, be passionate about the work.
