My Obsession

This has nothing to do with work. I have an obsession with tiny houses.

This is a trend that’s taken off which basically has people living in a tiny house (under 500 square feet). They look beautiful: spare, elegant structures set in a woodsy setting, looking like the life of Walden Pond. It is the ultimate in minimalism.

In my journal, I have an article that talks about the different companies who make pre-fab tiny houses (I can’t imagine building one myself…I watch the shows and I know I’d injure myself badly).  The one I like is wheelhaus.com….click here.

This couldn’t be more different than my actual life, but it is something I love. I go camping with my BFF and her family, which is the closest I get to a tiny house. (BTW, if I had a dollar for every time someone said to me “I can’t imagine you camping”, I’d be able to BUY a tiny house right now).

We camp in tents, albeit glamping with camping cots and sleeping bags. We don’t shower (it’s only 2 nights), but there is a main restroom everyone uses.  We all cook a meal (I cook kalbi and pre-make chapchae noodles).  There’s something incredibly restful about the simplicity of 3 meals a day (as soon as you’re done with one, you’re talking about the next one), having everything you own in a tent, and being out in Nature.

If you’ve never done it, I recommend it. It feeds the soul.
