  1. Be maniacal<\/strong><\/a> about doing the right thing.<\/li>\n
  2. Say thank you<\/strong>.<\/a> If your people work late or go the extra distance, acknowledge it.<\/li>\n
  3. How to always have successful projects<\/a><\/strong>. \u201cIf the project fails, it\u2019s your responsibility. If it\u2019s successful it was your team\u201d is the mindset.<\/li>\n
  4. Administrators react, managers anticipate<\/strong>. Be a manager<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. Add value to every communication<\/strong><\/a>: if no one\u2019s commenting, no one is reading it.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. No substitute for \u201cin person talking<\/a><\/strong>\u201d. By the second email, pick up the phone<\/strong>. If it\u2019s urgent, go talk to a manager.<\/li>\n
  7. Never underestimate the power of pre-selling<\/strong><\/a> to those you will impact before you make a change.<\/li>\n
  8. If you\u2019re in the meeting, say something<\/strong><\/a>. Contribute. Staying on the sidelines is worse than getting sacked in the game.<\/li>\n
  9. Prioritizing<\/strong><\/a> gives time back to you. You will always have too much to do.<\/li>\n
  10. Friends and family spell love \u201cT-I-M-E<\/strong>\u201d. <\/a>Show up.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  11. Don\u2019t aim for perfect<\/a><\/strong>. Aim for the best you can do.<\/li>\n
  12. Most things we worry about never<\/strong> <\/a>materialize.<\/li>\n
  13. Be a true team player<\/strong><\/a>. Help someone who is down. Don\u2019t badmouth. Coach.<\/li>\n
  14. Be brave<\/strong><\/a>: stand up for your position. Speak up.<\/li>\n
  15. When things go wrong<\/a>, tell people immediately and take accountability<\/strong>. Bad news never ages well.<\/li>\n
  16. Hire slow, fire fast<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  17. Don\u2019t play the angles\/weaknesses\/backdoors to a process. Point them out<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  18. A mentoring<\/a> test<\/strong>: Are you having a cup of coffee with two senior people who care about you and know you every couple of months? Invest in the relationship now\u2026not when you need help.<\/li>\n
  19. Assume positive intent<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  20. If someone is faltering, is it a skill or will issue? <\/b><\/a>If it\u2019s skill, you can change it. Will you can\u2019t.<\/strong><\/b><\/li>\n
  21. A presentation needs to tell a story<\/strong>:<\/a> it\u2019s almost always \u201cWhere we are, where we want to be, and how we\u2019re going to get there.\u201d<\/li>\n
  22. Be fast <\/a>AND accurate<\/a>. <\/strong>One without the other isn\u2019t enough.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  23. Always take the tough assignment<\/a>. Raise the bar for yourself<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  24. Myth: \u201cMy work will stand for itself<\/strong>\u201d. <\/a>It\u2019s not enough to get you promoted. It\u2019s usually the 3 Ps<\/strong>: Platform, Performance, and Perception.<\/li>\n
  25. Say hello<\/strong><\/b><\/a><\/li>\n
  26. Be consistent<\/strong><\/a>. Random wins do not make you a first string player.<\/li>\n
  27. Learn how to say no<\/strong><\/a>. Usually \u201cIf we do this, we can\u2019t do this\u201d is a good start.<\/li>\n
  28. Inspect vs Expect<\/strong><\/a>\u2026or \u201cin God we trust, all else we review\u201d.<\/li>\n
  29. Put the oxygen mask<\/strong> <\/a>on yourself first before you try and help others.<\/li>\n
  30. Provide feedback as soon as things happen<\/strong><\/a>, both good and bad.<\/li>\n
  31. You don\u2019t need to have a plan, but you need to know your anchor value<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  32. Don’t opt out prematurely.<\/li>\n
  33. You must always have a Plan B<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  34. Don’t take things personally<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
